Planta Europa Awards





 

Description of the awards
Jean-Paul Galland Award* is Planta Europa’s top award. The award commemorates the French botanist and conservationist Jean-Paul Galland, who was one of the founders of Planta Europa, he was killed in a plane crash on 17 July 1996 (TWA flight 800). Each Planta Europa Conference presents a single Jean-Paul Galland Award, to individuals and organisations for outstanding achievements in plant conservation.
Silver Leaf Awards
are presented in recognition of excellence in plant conservation in Europe.
The Planta Europa awards are honorary.

In Planta Europa IV, the recipient of the Jean-Paul Galland Award was Mr. David Bellamy. The Silver Leaf Awards were for Mr. César Gómez Campo, Mr. Adrian Darby and Mr. Emilio Laguna.
